Michael van Gerwen and Joe Cullen were one of the greatest matches in Premier League history as MVG escaped the darts in Berlin and defeated the Rock Stars 11-10 on Monday night.

It was a memorable final when Karen almost lost in Germany. Suffering from a double-double to win the last match, she entered the Dutch Premier League and won her record sixth title.

It came after a surprising one-sided semi-final when Van Gerwen defeated James Wade 10-4 and Karen defeated Jonny Clayton by the same score.

The MVG Victory is his first major tournament since the 2020 Players Championship. He completed the dry spell and lost his position as the most dangerous player in the sport.

He admits that the last two years have been very difficult, but he is ready to climb Mount Tungsten again.

“I’ve been through a very difficult time, so winning this title makes a lot of sense to me,” he said. “I’m a happy man. Joe Karen was amazing in the final. What day is it today? I’m over the moon.

Of course, I will do more titles from now on. It’s great to win this cup here in Berlin.

“I’ve been hurt for the last 18 months. I know what I can do, but today in Germany these people were absolutely sensational. I think they deserve sports.”

When asked how difficult it would be for him, Van Garben added: Of course, I think and push my problem a little bit. Because if you don’t do the right thing at the right time, they will kill you.

“Everyone expects Michael to win, but it’s not, it’s not that easy and it shouldn’t be.

“The most important thing is to win here today. It gives me a great feeling. I know there are many more. I will see it in a few weeks.”

“After the World Cup title, it’s the most important thing for me. It’s really difficult.”

This was a historic win for the 33-year-old, rivaling Phil Taylor’s record for Premier League titles. MVG hopes that it will insist in the future.

“I’m going to break this record too, don’t worry,” he said. There are still 10 to 15 years left.

Karen made her Premier League debut after winning the Masters in January this year, and MVG was pleased with the defeated foe.

Asked if Yorkshire turned out to be at the top of the darts table, Van Gerwen told Darts Online:

He is the winner no matter what he does. Of course he had a chance to beat me.

“Today he shouldn’t feel like a loser because he is the strength of the arrow, the strength of the sport, and I think he is also very important.”

While considering the first successful campaign in the elite event, Karen not only missed out on darts in the final after the loss, but also got an early opportunity to compete.

The 32-year-old average outscored MVG (99.36 to 99.10) and was disappointed that the win wasn’t a win.

“Michael is a great player and a great champion, but I am completely surprised,” he said.

“I don’t think he lost, but thanks to Michael he is a great man and a great champion.

“I think the replay calmed me down, I lost 3 in 32 for a break. I’m absolutely devastated.

Karen faces a prize of 000125,000 to finish second, and MVG receives 5,275,000 in her cup pocket.
