“Barcelona” has accused La Liga of economic pressure by rejecting the offer to buy Frenkie de Jong from Manchester United.

The ‘Red Devils’ were believed to have an offer of 52 million pounds and were rejected by the Catalan, even though they wanted to sell the Dutchman.

Barcelona’s preparations are due to its difficult economic situation and the clubs need to raise large sums of money to carry out their own transfer business.

However, negotiations are stalled as Barcelona want Dejon to pay more than 73.73 million to buy him from Ajax in 2019.

According to ESPN, the Catalans say their assessment depends on the fact that their “hands are tied to the La Liga rules.”

This happened after Barcelona violated salary restrictions. This resulted in a sensational departure from the club for Lionel Messi.

United are willing to increase De John’s offer to around 60m, but want to agree taxes that reflect Barcelona’s financial woes, rather than pay more than the Catalan did three years ago.

With Old Trafford’s new power structure, the authorities want to send a message that the shortcomings of recent years are a thing of the past.

De John wants to stay at Camp Nou but understands the club’s financial situation and is ready to join Eric Ten Hag at Old Trafford.
