Sadio Mané said he was part of Bayern Munich’s “very competitive team” and admitted it didn’t take him long to make the decision to leave Liverpool.
Senegal was one of Liverpool’s leading players during Jurgen Klopp’s reign, helping them win six titles, including the Premier League and Champions League.
However, Manet has decided to leave Liverpool at the start of the transfer window and is currently in danger of negotiating €41m (35.1m) with Bayern Munich.
“I was immediately moved when my agent first told me about Bavarian interests,” Manet said in an interview with Bilt.
I could see my head right away. For me, it was the right club at the right time.
“This is one of the biggest clubs in the world and the team is always competing for all the titles, so coming here was a very good idea and the right decision for me.”
Asked why he agreed to the move to Bayern, Manet said: It’s part of the business.
But when Bavarian announced his plans, I felt it immediately. “I found myself in the Bavarian plan more than anyone.”
Asked if he could help Bayern advance to the Champions League final, Manet said: “I don’t want to give up.
All the children want to win the Champions League, all the players in the world. Now I am with a very competitive team.
“But it’s too early to talk about the Champions League final and we haven’t played them yet. Still, we’ll do everything we can to get to the final.”
