English duo Liam Livingston and Jason Roy defended Eoin Morgan and helped the captain rediscover his day.
Morgan is yet to score in England’s one-day international series with the Netherlands, with Ducks going down in a row in the first two games.
The 35-year-old, who led England to 2019 World Cup glory, has not scored a goal in half a century in any cricket format since July 2021.
However, his white-collar teammates Livingston and Roy argue that jogging is already close and Morgan will contribute to the team in the event of a fall.
“I think what is forgotten is the wonderful leader of Morges,” Livingstone said. He is the leader of our team and everyone knows that he only has one score left.
“I’m sure this report will come soon and it will go away and change again.”
Roy, the World Cup winner in England, added: If you’re behind eight balls, it’s pretty tough, but I really support him because he’s a hard worker and a great guy.
He is the captain of our team and it is a winning game. I think it makes more sense to him than points and makes him more special to play under him. He’ll be fine. He will definitely be fine. “
Morgan’s two failures in the Netherlands were particularly frowned upon. England was in a strong position against underdeveloped opposition in both cases when the folds were made.
In the first ODI, England broke a 498-4 record as Joe Butler blew 162 from 70 balls, Phil Salt won his first international and David Malang also hit three numbers.
With more runs from Salt and 73 from his opening partner, Roy helped England win the cruiserweight in the second leg, the third and final ODI tomorrow.
Butler’s innings last weekend was one of the perfect cue ball kicks, and Livingstone says it was a “pretty special” watch from the other side.
“I’m glad he was by my side this time to see how Joe works,” he added. “It was very special to see him, especially from the other side.
I had a great time. It was great to break the world record on Friday, the boy did a very good cricket, it was a good standard and I hope it will be the same again. [on Wednesday]..
