São Paulo starts series that can free him or decree his relegation

by

Unable to extricate themselves from the fight against relegation in the Brazilian Championship, São Paulo starts, this Saturday (27), a series of matches that could define the future of the team.

The tricolor team faces Sport, in Morumbi, at 21:30, in a game valid for the 36th round of Nacional, broadcast by SporTV and Premiere.

The duel against Recife, who currently occupy the 19th position (vice-lantern), will be the first of three matches against teams that are also fighting relegation.

Next, Rogério Ceni’s team will face Grêmio and Juventude, respectively, on the next Thursday (2) and Monday (6). Afterwards, he played his last match at the Brazilian Nationals against América-MG, on December 9, the only one of his opponents that is in a calmer situation in the table.

The Morumbi club also has its worst attack ever recorded in an edition of the Campeonato Brasileiro. There were only 26 goals scored so far in the competition.

In addition, Bahia, another team that fights not to fall, still has one game less than São Paulo — a difficult duel against the leader Atlético-MG, but which could happen when the Minas Gerais team has already been champion.

On the other hand, if they manage to come out of this streak undefeated, São Paulo arrives for the last round already free of chances of being relegated.

In its favor, the tricolor team has the fact that it will play two of the three decisive games at home: against Sport and Youth. In addition, the trio of opponents is, at this moment, below the São Paulo team in the table.

In the last five games, Ceni’s team has drawn twice (including the last one, against Athletico, at home, with 43,000 fans), lost twice and won only once.
