Kristensen agreed to the terms of the new contract with the club, but according to the Evening Standard, it left Tuchel and the board “angry” when he changed his stay at the club.
But Danish footballers say it was a good time to thank him eternally for the “wonderful” ten years he spent at the club and walk away.
“At the age of 16, I made the difficult decision to leave Denmark,” Kristensen said in a statement.
I met many different clubs, but for me I only had one option, it was Chelsea. From the moment they arrived I was made to feel at home thanks to Jim Fraser and Neil Bat, who immediately accepted me as part of the family.
My proudest moment at the club was when I won the FA Youth Cup and the UEFA Youth League. It was a special group of young players who were proud to have teammates.
I was lucky to be able to play with a great coach like this one: [Antonio] tell, [Jose] Mourinho, and now Thomas Tuchel. It was my proudest achievement as a player when I played in the Champions League in Porto last year.
“I was a young man at Chelsea. I was afraid of players starting their careers. I am grateful to the whole club for making my dream come true.”
“I had a great decade at this club and I felt it was a good time for me and my family to start anew,” he added. “Leaving the club and the fans was not an easy decision, so the last few months have been mentally difficult.
“I’m not the most talkative person so sometimes I don’t know how much sense the clubs and the fans make for me. I miss the players, the staff and everyone here. The future of the clubs and the fans. I wish you all the better. “
Kristensen’s departure felt even sharper, but Antonio Rudiger’s departure from Real Madrid was yet another blow.
