PSG tells Neymar that it no longer counts on him, says Spanish newspaper

With about five months to go before the start of the 2022 World Cup, Neymar may be leaving Paris Saint-Germain, in France, and still without a certain future.

According to the Spanish newspaper El País this Tuesday (28), the French club warned the Brazilian’s father, Neymar da Silva Santos, responsible for managing the athlete’s career, that he is no longer part of the team’s plans.

Also according to the newspaper, the reason for the decision is the new profile of athletes that PSG wants to count on from now on. The choice would also be linked to pressure exerted by Frenchman Kylian Mbappé – the player who gave up on leaving the Parisian team for Real Madrid would be bothered by Neymar’s alleged indiscipline in his training and recovery routine.

It is worth remembering that the Spanish press has adopted a more critical tone towards Neymar since the player left Barcelona for PSG in 2017.

If they really want to get rid of the Brazilian, PSG will have to seek an agreement. According to the French newspaper L’Equipe, on July 1st, the contract for the shirt number 10 of the Brazilian team will be automatically renewed until 2027 by triggers established in his contract.

Recently, Neymar was angered by a statement by PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. When asked if the ace was part of the club’s new project, the top hat replied that “some will come, others will, but these are private negotiations”. RMC Sport stated that the manner of speaking irritated the player and that he made himself available to look for a new club.
