Ian Wright has fired back at Alan Sugar’s “perfect bullshit” after the former Tottenham chairman suggested Wright comment on the women’s euro in a Twitter complaint.
I tweeted on Saturday and was wondering about the women’s commentary team at the Women’s European Championship.
She writes: “I watched women’s football and realized that all the commentators are women. Also, if there is men’s football, keep in mind that the token commentators are women who cover the station. Should I complain about a male football commentator? “
His whining wasn’t accurate as Jonathan Pearce was commenting on the tournament, but when Wright was commenting on the England-Norway match on Monday night he thought it was influential…
“Glad my old friend Ian Wright commented on last night’s women’s game,” Sugar tweeted. “Wonder if my previous tweet below was nervous? Of course BBC Sport doesn’t say anything, Ian was already involved in it @IanWright0.
Of course, it was bullshit, and Wright called it out in a great video he posted on Twitter Tuesday morning.
Wright said: “Can you please stop tweeting Alan Sugar? He was taking my daughter to a singing class and the tweet exploded, it breaks my heart, I think you can’t.

Alain, he’s my friend. Instead of saying, “I made a mistake. There are a lot of guys working at all levels of the tournament,” you doubled down on complete nonsense.
“In your mind, you actually thought the BBC called me after you tweeted. I care about the fact that we were willing to do it for a year. I don’t, they hired me for a year.”
“Do you really think they called me and said, ‘Ian, I need to get back from Germany ASAP,'” Alan Sugar tweeted.
“Do you really think this happened? I need to know! Because it tells me your ego is completely out of control.
“Where are the people around you to hug you? You need some hugs. It’s ridiculous to come to Twitter for that kind of attention. Do this to yourself. Please stop.”
But I have to thank you for this tweet. Without you, you would have missed one of the best England games you’ve ever played. [Laughs]
-Seriously, I’m glad you saw it. That’s not the only thing you can blame.
“I was sitting in a room where a former soccer player was downplaying the women’s games. I am very happy that she has upset you and all of them.
“I hope you enjoy the rest of the tournament. Could you tweet again so I can work on Friday? Please. Someone will congratulate you.”
