It was known, now it is official… O Ralph Rangnick is the coach who will undertake to lead her Manchester United until the end of the season, in an official role.
The two sides agreed that the German coach will remain after the summer for two additional years in the role of advisor to the team. THE Michael Carrick will remain in place, however, until the bureaucratic issues for the work visa in Ranknik are settled.
The 63-year-old coach previously worked as a sports director at Lokomotiv Moscow, while he had long held the same position from Leipzig and Salzburg. He has also coached Leipzig, Schalke, Hoffenheim, Hannover, Stuttgart and several other German teams.
The general manager of the club, John Mertow, stressed: «Ralph is one of the most respected and pioneering coaches in Europe. For us it was the first choice for the position of in-service coach based on his experience for almost four decades in football. We all look forward to working together for the rest of the season, but also for the next two years in the consulting role that will have».
The same Ranknik stressed: «I’m excited to be part of Manchester United now and I’m committed to making this season a success. The team has a lot of talent and an excellent balance of youth and experience. All my efforts for the next six months will be to help my players show their potential, both individually and as a team, which is the most important. After the summer I look forward to supporting the long-term goals on an advisory basis».
