«A strong message of dynamic support for people with mental disabilities is the cooperation of KAE Panathinaikos OPAP and Special Olympics Hellas in the framework of the Corporate Social Responsibility program “One Team” of the Euroleague.
From the side of KAE Panathinaikos OPAP – which participates for the 8th consecutive year in “One Team” – the One Team Ambassadors Ioannis Papapetrou and Jeremy Evans, with the active participation of all the athletes of KAE, as well as the legends of the Euroleague and Panathinaikos Frangiskou Alberti and Dimitris Diamantidis, have undertaken to pass on the secrets of basketball and the values of sports to the Special Olympics Hellas team.
This initiative aims to strengthen the multifaceted work of the sports, educational, non-profit organization Special Olympics Hellas, which with training programs throughout Greece, competitive activities in 26 Olympic-type sports and a number of programs, contributes to physical, mental and social development. of athletes with intellectual disabilities and in spreading a strong message of respect, acceptance and inclusion.
In the first two weeks of the trainings that took place in the framework of the cooperation between KAE Panathinaikos OPAP and Special Olympics Hellas, Dimitris Diamantidis, Frangiskos Albertis, Giorgos Kalaitzis, Ioannis Papapetrou, Jeremy Evans and Vassilis Kavas opportunity to play with the athletes of the Special Olympics Hellas Basketball team, to chat and take photos with them.
