The CBF (Brazilian Confederation of Sports) presented this Sunday (7) the new shirt of the selection for the dispute of the World Cup 2022, in Qatar. With two models, in the traditional yellow and blue colors, the uniforms, according to the supplier, pay homage to the jaguar and the strength of the nation.
“Vibrant and bold, the 2022 uniform of the Brazilian team honors the courage and culture of a people who never give up. Inspired by the strength and beauty of the jaguar, the shirt unites all Brazilians”, said the CBF.
On the inside of the shirt, at the nape of the neck, there is a graphic in reference to the “Brazilian claw”. The main model, yellow, also has spots that refer to the jaguar​.
Still without disclosing the values ​​​​of the shirts, Nike, supplier of the team’s sports equipment, reported that the items will start to be sold from this Monday (8), but only for members of its exclusive sales club. The general public will be able to purchase the models from Thursday (11).
For the publicity campaign, the company selected names such as the players Alisson, Richarlison, Rodrygo, Philippe Coutinho, Marquinhos, Matheus Cunha and Adriana. Olympic athlete Paulo André and former player Ronaldo also appear in the campaigns.
“Wearing the yellow jersey is the greatest honor that my teammates and I could imagine. We want to play hard and win for our country,” said Richarlison.
The Qatar World Cup will be played between November 21 and December 18. Brazil is in Group G, alongside Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.
Coach Tite’s team will debut against Serbia on 24 November. Then, on the 28th, they will face Switzerland. Their campaign in the group stage will end on December 2 against Cameroon.
The game that will mark the opening of the World Cup will be between the host, Qatar, and Ecuador, third place in the South American qualifiers.
