Anna Doudunaki and Dimitris Markos qualified for the semi-finals of the 50m butterfly and 200m freestyle respectively at the European Championships which continue in Rome.
Doudunaki, title holder, 4th yesterday (13/08) in the 50m butterfly, qualified as 13th in the semi-finals which will be held at 19:21 in the afternoon (14/08, ERT3).
The best of the qualifiers was Louise Hanson from Sweden with 57.46, while second with 57.85 was the French Marie Vatel, who shared the top step of the podium with Doudunaki last year in Budapest.

In the 200m freestyle, Markos recorded a performance of 1:48.18, was 7th in the 6th qualifying round and 12th overall. Raced on track number zero. He will compete in the afternoon (14/08) at 19:11 Greek time (ERT3).
Andreas Vazaios, ranked 19th with 1:48.71, and is the first alternate of the semi-final, staying away from the pan-Hellenic record (1:46.94) he achieved earlier in the year. The last to pass was the Belgian Lucas Envo with 1:48.56. Vazaios swam in the 7th row, and in the 100m he came first with 52.96.
Kostas Stamou with 1:50.86 improved his individual record and ranked 31st out of 46 who competed. For the second time this year he dropped from 1:51.00.
