Official: Karabelas on loan from AEK to Apollon Patras

To Apollo of Patras will compete in the new season o Zois Karabelasas on loan from AEK!

The 21-year-old playmaker wore her jersey last season Larisa and was one of its protagonists in the amazing course it carried out in the Basket League, while it had preceded a four-year period in Dove.

Apollo Patras’ announcement in detail:



“KAE Apollon Patras 1926, announces the start of its cooperation with the 21-year-old (1.86, April 27, 2001) point-guard, Zoi Karambela.

Zois Karabelas started his career with the Porto Raftis team, transferred to Doukas, then went to Peristeri and in the 18-19 season he made his debut in the A1 National Team, against Holargos.

In the 2018-19 season, he was named the Best Young Player of A1 and last year he played in Larissa.

Karabelas has been a member of the “small” National teams of Greece, with which he took part in the 2018 European Junior Championship and the 2019 U19 World Cup.

In February 2021, he was called up to the Men’s National Team for the first time to participate in the EuroBasket 2022 qualifiers. The first game was against Bosnia, a 69-84 loss, with him having 2 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Karabela’s statements after the announcement of his move:



“I am very happy to compete in the historic team of Apollon Patras. I’m really looking forward to the start of training, to meet my new teammates, find chemistry and fight for the best on the field. I know the dynamics of Apollo’s world and we are waiting for him to come to the stadium to help us”.
