Ronnie O’Sullivan wants to open a food bank because he’s looking for new and challenging challenges outside of the pool table.

Rocket returned to the top of his sport, winning his seventh world title in May, equaling Stephen Hendry’s record and regaining the number one spot in the world rankings.

The 46-year-old shows little sign of leaving snooker, establishing himself as one of the greatest players of all time, but always looking for new challenges.

Over the years, he tried to keep all his eggs out of the pool basket, diversifying his interests so he could take the pressure off the bowl and focus on other things.

This is part of his preparation for the fact that practicing his favorite sport is no longer an option, but at the same time he believes that it has helped him extend his career at the highest level. .

“It’s very dangerous for any athlete to be fully involved in the sport,” O’Sullivan told The Climb Podcast, so much so that when pool ends, you wonder, “Who am I?” What I can do? ”

“I don’t want to end my career and be a lost person. Having a purpose in life is very important. For me, I’m always looking for my next goal.

Too demanding, too difficult, too selfish, too changeable. Put all your time and energy into it. So you could have a better competition or a worse back, not because of what you have done. I find that transition difficult to make.

O’Sullivan works, he writes books, sometimes he runs a store, he is always busy with work, but now he focuses on new things.

Rocket spent Christmas at a food bank in London and was satisfied with the billiards, so he decided to make his own.

“When I woke up the next morning, the last few weeks after winning the World Cup, the first week was a mess, a bit confused and not in the mood to do anything,” Ronnie continued.

“Then I went out and it didn’t come back as good as I thought it would, and I don’t feel the euphoria that you feel when you win the first and third quarters.

“This is not a good sign.

“I thought I should open a food bank for people who can’t get the basics of life, who know what they have to do.

Having worked in Walthamstow, that’s probably the next thing I want to do.

I was helping out there on Christmas day, and it’s been a year. I was watching what was going on, and it was nice that people came there. Being there made me feel better being around these people. Everything about him was fine, part of him.

“People should give their time for free, without reward, unless they want something in return.

“I need that kind of challenge and something that makes me feel good right now.”
