Greek Ping Pong Cup with a system different from the championship

The friends of Greek ping pong saw the prospect of the return of the Greek Cup, an institution that was interrupted ten whole years ago and in addition that the E.F.O.E.P.A. connects him with the matches of the local Cup, which he also restores after a short absence.

The newest and most interesting is that the federation has made a plan for the local Cup that makes it really attractive. He issued the relevant announcement and there he states, among other things, that in its first phases the organization will take place in the seats of the clubs, that each match will end in favor of the team that will reach first in the four individual victories, in a different system compared to the matches of the inter-club championships and that there will be a final four.

The electronic applications for participation are in progress and will be submitted until next Monday, the 8th of the month, on the website of E.F.O.E.P.A.

The Men-Women Local Cup is set to begin in November. The system provides for four phases and on March 19-20, 2022, the final four will follow for the promotion of the local cup winners in gyms that will be announced. The Greek Cup is scheduled for May 14 and 15, 2022.

The main points of the announcement for the Local Cup are the following:

– It is announced in four regions, Attica, Northern Greece, Western Greece, other country – island Greece, with the aim of promoting a cup-winning region and qualifying for the National Cup.

– It is carried out with a system of simple “knockouts” in seats up to the semifinal phase, where a centralized final four is carried out. In case there are four entries, the final four phase is held directly.

– All unions belonging to E.F.O.PA. have the right to participate. with athletes who meet the requirements of the general announcement.

– The draw will take place on November 11 at 14:00 at the offices of E.F.O.E.P.A.

– The seats are determined by drawing lots and it is at the discretion of the clubs the place of the match within a period of one month per phase, namely:

in November, first phase

in December, Phase II

in the month of January, third phase

in the month of February, 4th phase

Final phase of the final four March 19-20, in seats that will be announced.

– In order for a Cup to be organized in each region, there must be at least four applications. In case the required number is not filled in, the groups have the right to participate after the end of the declarations, with an additional declaration within 48 hours in the nearest transport district, declaring a seat within the specific district from the beginning.

– Especially in the region of another country – island Greece, in any island where at least four teams declare their participation, a local cup is held.

– The Local Cup gives, upon its completion, a number of qualifying teams for the National Cup, as defined in its announcement.

– The races will be held for both men and women with the system of seven races [6 απλά και 1 διπλό ]. The team consists of 3, 4 or 5 athletes. The order of the games is: A-Y, B-X, CZ, A-X, CY, BZ, double.

– The winning teams do not have the right to participate in European competitions.

– The participation fees: For teams of A1 National category 80 €, for teams of A2 National category 60 €, for teams of B ‘National category 40 € and for groups of local category 20 €.

– The general and special protocols, as well as the announcements of the Health Scientific Committee of the GGA are strictly valid.
