Mikel Arteta insists the Arsenal side are not lacking in conviction as they prepare for their trip to Old Trafford this weekend, having won earlier and being away from Manchester he said they would beat United again.

As the only Premier League team with a perfect record, the Gunners have no reason to go into the game with confidence.

With five wins from five games, Arteta’s side top the table, with United starting poorly and quickly improving to find themselves six points behind fifth-placed Arsenal.

The trip to Old Trafford may seem daunting for some teams after the Red Devils’ three wins in a row, but Arteta says the players are not afraid, partly because of their form but partly because of their victory at Manchester United just two seasons.

Arteta said of his players: “They are strong enough to go out and win matches.”

“We went through something like that when we didn’t win at Stamford Bridge for 20 years, but you have to believe you can do it. You can win.”

This is nothing new [winning at Old Trafford]We have done it, we have to start again, and we have to believe that today, yesterday and after the game, we can go out and play as we want.
