West Ham manager David Moyes didn’t mince words after being denied an equalizing goal against Chelsea following a controversial official call-up.

Moyes’s side took the lead at Stamford Bridge just over an hour later through Michael Antonio before Ben Chilwell equalized and Kai Havertz scored the winner for Thomas Tuchel’s side in the 88th minute.

However, in the 90th minute, West Ham thought they had saved a point when Maxwell Cornette lunged for a foul on Eduardo Mendy, but VAR ruled that Mendy had been fouled by Jarrod Bowen when he jumped over the goalkeeper and did not allow. The goal.

However, replays made it clear that Bowen and Mandy had made contact, but it was minimal and hardly merited a foul or theatrical extortion from Mandy.

Moyes was visibly upset after the match. Of course, referee Andy Madley expressed his anger at the full-time whistle.

“It was a scandalous and totally vitiated decision by one of the referees that we consider elite,” said the coach after the match.

“Not much has been said about who sent him from VAR. This is an incredible decision for us.

“I am in favor of a lot of VAR. In fact, if the goalkeeper jumps, I think he hurts himself because he doesn’t get to the next goal.

He did the same with his first goal. The referee made an incredibly bad decision.”

The result lifts West Ham to 18th and Chelsea to 5th at the time of writing, although the result could have been very different had Cornette been on target.

Irons captain Declan Rice told BBC Sport: “Obviously I’ve only seen it as a team. I can’t say much because if I say anything I’ll be fined.”

“But how can you go to the monitor and call him? It’s an absolute disgrace.” The young man and the manager feel cheated and may have missed something.
