Opinion – Walter Casagrande Jr.: Desperate, Bolsonaro clan kidnaps the 7th of September; Brazil is not one of the scammers

“We never despair / We’ve learned a lot in these years / After all, there’s no point / Delivering the game in the first half.”

This is an excerpt from “Desperar Never”, by Ivan Lins and Vítor Martins, from 1979. Why did I get this song? Because we cannot despair, despite everything that happened on September 7th.

We would have plenty of reasons to “hit our heads on the wall” with so much indignation, starting with the lines of the “brochable” president Jair Bolsonaro, who has no scruples, being cowardly enough to incite a coup when his defeat comes.

The Bolsonaro clan, in addition to being made up of liars, manipulators and deceivers, also includes kidnappers of national symbols. And Independence Day was also hijacked.

What did those people who wore a coup banner with the phrase: “We Brazilians authorize President Jair Bolsonaro and the Armed Forces of Brazil to resign from the positions of ministers of the STF”, followed by nine names of the Supreme ?

“We who?

Brazil is not yours, scammers.

We Brazilians want to vote and respect the election result, whatever it may be.

And what about the freak show on the platform with the “princess”? What about someone who spreads to the four winds who speaks in the name of God and uses it to spread religious prejudice, intolerance, hatred and lies?

The same applies to Pastor Silas Malafaia, who has the courage (or cowardice) to, in a cult, ask Jesus Christ to paralyze the polls for eight hours. That is, he asks for a fraud in the name of a false good.

What god are these people talking about? Jesus is neither a scammer nor a liar, much less a supporter of charlatans who use his name to deceive a suffering people like the Brazilian.

These people have lost track of their true role in society.

Jair Bolsonaro and his gang neither respect nor want any democracy.

How can they say they think of the most humble people if a Bolsonarista businesswoman from Bahia recommends that other bosses pressure their employees about the vote, under threat of firing those who will vote for Lula? There is not the slightest concern about these families, whether they will have something to eat, how their children will study or if they will have a place to live.

These people are the worst part of our society.

Deceitful, wicked, who are not concerned about anyone, respect nothing. They only think of winning through cheating and lies.

I do not believe that the Armed Forces will be colluding with the coup speeches of this macabre group. Brazil has been stuck in hell for four years, under the command of false prophets who use the name of God to deceive people. In this team are the president and his children, the so-called “princess of religious prejudice”, the pastors who deceive the most humble and those coup businessmen afraid of losing the facilities received from the current government.

The Bolsonaro family’s strategy at this moment is to win votes through fear, threats and intimidation.

But I have no doubt that this will end and the nasty bugs will go back to the sewers where they’ve been hiding for years, because they’re treacherous.

And in desperation, as they are now, they are capable of any evil against anyone who thinks differently from them or who dares to show society what their true intentions are.

The cry attributed to Dom Pedro 1º on the banks of the Ipiranga River is “Independence or Death” and not “Coup or Death”.
