Casper Rudd doesn’t expect popularity in his native Norway, even if Erling Haaland beats Carlos Alcaraz to win the US Open and become world No. 1.

The culmination of an exceptional Grand Slam tournament will be a head-to-head confrontation for the first major title and the highest ranking for men and women.

Rudy inherited a love for the sport from his father, Christian, who was a Top 50 player in the 1990s and is already the greatest player in his country’s history.

This is a phenomenal period in Norwegian sports history, with athletes from this small country leading the world not only in traditional winter sports, but also in athletics, triathlon and tennis.

However, Manchester City goal machine Haaland is fully armed, with Rudd saying: We all hope it continues. It’s a pleasure to see him after scoring a goal.

It is clearly the biggest star in Norway at the moment. It will probably continue for many more years.

“I’m just focusing on my career. Of course I hope to win more tournaments in my career. I want to put it on the map.”

It was heralded as the most open men’s Grand Slam tournament in 20 years, and for the first time since the creation of the United States in 1881, all four semi-finalists were there for the first time.

It also became the youngest final four since Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer reached a Grand Slam in 2008. It’s Coming.

To finish at that pace, the route would be described as ‘perfect condition’.

“Of course it’s going to be stressful and we’re both going to feel it,” the 23-year-old said. I will revenge”.

Ruud’s only title to date was at the lowest level of the ATP Tour, all but one on clay, but he made big strides this season, reaching his first Grand Slam final at the French Open.

Although he lost heavily to Nadal, he hopes this experience will help Alcalaz, who is 19 years old and is reaching his first Grand Slam final.

“(Nadal) obviously hit well,” Rudd said. “After the final I said: ‘If I succeed again, I hope it’s not on the ledge in front of Roland Garros’ because it’s an impossible task for any player. I’m glad there are no ledges on clay.”

“I wish I was a little more prepared. At least when I walked out on the court, when I saw the trophy behind the court, when I saw dozens of celebrity faces, I was a little more aware of what I was facing.” You know, I hope you’ll be more prepared on Sunday.

Alcaraz’s trip to New York will be remembered for a long time, whether he wins the title or not.

The youngest world No. 1 teenager in history played three straight five-set matches. After completing two-hour tournament matches with Marin Cilic and Janik Sinner, he played another night session classic against Francis Tiafoe.

Alcalaz, who has spent nearly 20 hours on the court in six games, said: I’m a little tired. I’m very happy. Ten years ago, I was thinking of a young man who dreamed of this moment.

“It’s great to be able to fight for something big. It’s my first Grand Slam final. I see number one, but at the same time it’s still a long way off.”

“I have another match against someone who is playing amazing, I will give it my all.
