‘I don’t want to end anyone’s career, just justice’, says model who accuses players of rape

The model who filed a rape complaint against three players from Botafogo-SP, a crime that would have occurred in the early hours of Monday (26), in a hotel in Santo Cristo, in the port area of ​​Rio de Janeiro, said she has received anonymous messages of intimidation. . Faced with the repercussion of the case, she decided to reveal her name, her face and her version of events. She says she believes that this way, she will be safer.

“I started to receive messages on my Instagram from people asking why I was filing the complaint. I don’t want to end anyone’s career, I just want justice,” said Alcimara Ventura, 27, to Sheet.

Living in Rio for seven months, the model, born in São Gabriel da Cachoeira, a municipality 852 km away from Manaus (AM), is the mother of two girls aged four and seven and said she cannot leave the house. “I’m afraid and I’m being judged. Yesterday, one of the players already tried to make contact with me and even called my brother.”

Wanted, player João Diogo Jennings did not answer. By message, he sent the lawyer’s contact, who, until the publication of this text, did not respond.

Wanted, Eduardo Barbosa Hatamoto and Argentine Lucas Delgado also did not manifest.

Alcimara calls his brother Iuri Maia, 30, also a model, his childhood friend. Maia was with her at a nightclub in Barra da Tijuca, west of Rio, where he met the players.

“On Sunday we went to the nightclub to have fun. There, an acquaintance gave bracelets to the cabin, and an Argentine approached Alcimara. He was with two friends. We didn’t know they were players. I exchanged contact with one of them, Diogo” , said Maia.

According to Alcimara, around 3:30 am, she left the club with her friend and Delgado – the three got into an app car and went to the place where the team from Ribeirão Preto was staying. At the hotel, only Delgado and Alcimara would have entered; Maya said goodbye.

According to the model, Delgado and she started touching each other with consent, but that changed when they went to shower. “When we got to the room, Lucas called me to the shower. I told him to get a condom, I said I didn’t want to. He didn’t want to get the condom and he came inside, which happened quickly.”

Also according to Alcimara, at that moment, there was a knock on the bedroom door. “He got out of the shower, I still said ‘don’t open the door’ but he did.”

Alcimara says that two men entered the room and that she recognized them as the same men who were in the club with Delgado: Jennings and Hatamoto.

According to the model, the players who entered the room touched her body. “I was still wearing a towel, Lucas started to pack his suitcase, and I started to get dressed. Diogo and Eduardo started to straighten me, and I told them to stop. I looked at Lucas, and he ignored me. Laughing , Diogo lay down on the bed in his underwear and said: ‘She’s a marrenta whore'”, reported Alcimara.

She also said that at that moment the assault took place. “That’s when Eduardo came up to me. I understood that they wanted sex, and I said that I didn’t want to, that I wanted to leave. Eduardo then said: ‘Let’s see if she really is a marrenta’. bit my breast while I was putting on the dress,” she says.

The report had access to a photo of the model’s right breast that shows a large bruise surrounded by the mark that appears to be from a dental arch.

According to the model’s version, she tried to flee and was restrained in the hallway, before finally reaching the reception. “I started crying and asking why they were doing that to me. I ran out of the room towards the elevator. At that, Eduardo came after me and took me to another room. There, he told me to calm down. I replied that I just wanted to leave, that I was a mother, that I wanted to see my girls again, that my breast was hurting, burning a lot. I ran and managed to catch the elevator,” she said.

The model said that, upon reaching the ground floor of the hotel, she was approached by employees, who asked her to call the Military Police. “When I called the police, the policeman started asking where I was and who had attacked me. The hotel receptionist then gave the names of the players. At that, the entire team passed through the reception, including the three.”

Still in her report, Alcimara said that the players lowered their heads when they saw her at the reception and got on the bus. After that, the Military Police reportedly told her to go to a police station, where the registration was carried out. There, two police officers took her to undergo a forensic examination at the IML (Legal Medical Institute), and she took an anti-AIDS cocktail.

On her Instagram account this Thursday (29), the model thanked the support of friends, asked not to be judged and said that “the feelings are of fear, guilt and sadness”.

The report had access to a call that would have been made by Jennings to Maia. The telephone contact would have occurred on Wednesday, after the disclosure of the case. The conversation, in speakerphone, was recorded on video. In Maia’s cell phone display, it is possible to see the phone number that appears in the incident report as the player’s.

“Bro, it’s João Diogo. Bro, what is your sister doing? What has your sister done? I have nothing to do with this situation, I didn’t rape your sister, I didn’t do anything to your sister. I can talk to her, I’m talking to you”, says the person.

“Bro, no one opened the door. I was from that room. So when I arrived, I went to the room. I have nothing to do with it, you are disgracing my career”, says the man in the recorded call.

Deputy Vinícius Domingos, holder of the 4th DP (Central), said that the investigation is at the beginning and that it is about sexual violence. “I still need their testimony. It’s a fine line between sexual harassment and rape. She alleges that they tried to force it, that they held it, that there was a bite on the chest. Regarding the Argentine, she says that he was without a condom and that [ela] did not want to continue. And he continues, without her will. Technically, this is still a sexual act without consent,” she said.

Domingos also says that the accusation that falls on Jennings is that he would have “touched her and then cursed her”. Asked if this could be considered rape, the delegate replied that “crimes against sexual dignity need to be analyzed along with the whole context”.

In a note, Botafogo-SP said that it became aware of the complaint and terminated Delgado’s contract. “Eduardo Hatamoto and João Diogo were also punished for disciplinary infractions. Botafogo also informs that it will await the conclusion of the investigations to decide what other actions will be taken on the two athletes.”
