Goalkeeper Bruno is announced as new reinforcement for Búzios and suffers rejection

Sociedade Esportiva Búzios, a team that competes in the fourth division of the Carioca Championship, also called B2, announced on social media the hiring of goalkeeper Bruno Fernandes, sentenced in 2013 to 22 years in prison (later reduced to 20 years and nine months) for murder of then-ex-girlfriend Eliza Samudio. He progressed in 2019 to the semi-open regime.

To F5, Renato Matos, president of the club, says that Bruno is on loan to the team until the end of the championship and that he will be able to debut in this Wednesday’s match (5) against Campos, at 3 pm. The team is in sixth place in the fifth round of the B2 championship.

About a possible rejection of the city with the arrival of a man convicted of murder, Matos says: “Yes, there is rejection, but there are people supporting it too”.

“Welcome, goleirão”, was the caption for a short video that shows the player training some fundamentals already with the uniform of the Carioca team. The post’s comments were blocked and, therefore, it was not possible to see if the fans approve or contest the hiring.

It is worth remembering that Bruno had been hired in 2019 by Poços de Caldas Futebol Clube (MG). The team’s organized fans said at the time that he would “certainly” have the support of the stands and that he would even get special music. In October the contract was terminated. In July of this year, he was announced by Atlético Carioca, a fifth division team.
