THE Alfred Schroeder and Dusan Tadic stated that the departures of Anthony, Martinez, Alle and Gravenberg have affected the Dutch club quite a bit and have reduced the confidence of the team.
The four who left in the summer were key players for Ajax, which forced the Dutch coach to charge there the club’s worst defeat since 1964.
“We have seven or eight new players. When you lose so many players it becomes quite difficult” said captain Dusan Tadic, who was sent off and will miss next week’s clash in Napoli.
Ajax now have 3 points from as many games and are in danger of being left out of the Champions League if they do not take drastic action with Schröder making it clear that the changes have had a big impact on the team.
“In the last few weeks we don’t notice any progress in our game. I personally did not expect it. I knew that Napoli can play very good football and we knew that we had to show our courage. We clearly didn’t do that” said Schroeder and added: “This shocked us all. Napoli are a great team full of confidence, something we seem to be lacking at the moment».
