To fill his world Panathinaikou to the extent that OAKA is possible in tomorrow’s match against Spartak Miyava for the Challenge Cup, the coach of the volleyball team asked, Dimitris Andreopoulos. Speaking to News Bulletin 247 referred to the benefits for his team, psychologically and financially, of the strong presence of fans in the stadium.
In fact, he did not fail to express his admiration for the “clover” football team and to praise Ivan Jovanovic for his work and the security he offers to the team.
In detail, Dimitris Andreopoulos spoke to Vaios Tsoutsikas and Tasos Nikologiannis about:
-tomorrow’s rematch with Spartak Miyava at OAKA: “In the first game things went well. We won 3-1 with a good performance, although our team is not yet tied with many new faces. Teams, no matter how experienced the athletes are, need time to bond and get to know each other’s game.”
-the presence of many fans in the first game: “Suddenly we saw 300 Panathinaikos fans in this village in Slovakia and it was a big surprise. The number was huge and the pulse was great. Hernandez, who is Latino, was excited and is looking forward to the first game in OAKA. We also want to see at some point a full OAKA for the volleyball team.”
-the importance of the presence of the world: “Last year with our presence in two games at OAKA, the attendance was great and with this revenue we were able to increase the budget and bring in 1-2 players more expensive than we could afford. The presence of the public is important, we ask for their support and we know that the department is loved by the public. It is a secret desire, although we come after football and basketball. But it’s not just financial, the world has given us wings all these years and at home our performance is much better. We love the world and it loves us.”
-Panathinaikos’ goal in the Challenge Cup: “I will never say big words. The only promise is that we will do our best to go as far as possible. No one has a contract with wins or titles. We must be humble and the higher we reach. Last year we reached the semi-finals, let’s hope this year we can go there and even further”.
– the football team Panathinaikos and Jovanovic: “Porom, pom pom (laughs). We are very happy with Panathinaikos and its progress since last year. I like football and follow the team closely whenever my commitments allow. We feel in every game a security, both technically and tactically. We believe that Panathinaikos will cope in every game. We have a very difficult schedule ahead of us, with Aris, Volos and Olympiakos. If he gets a lot of points in these matches, that’s where the championship dynamic we’re looking for will start to appear.”
