The assessment of this season for him and for her Ferraridid o Charles Leclercspeaking ahead of the Grand Prix to be held at Austin of the USA (23/10).

The Monegasque referred to the mistakes he is accused of, stressing that people talk about them more than they should.

What the Ferrari driver said in detail:

“I don’t believe that when I made mistakes, I had to make up for them. I was motivated to do well at Ferrari’s home race at Imola, but also in France, yes, I made mistakes. But they could happen anywhere in the season.

For me, things are not like that. I’m always trying to push the limit, all the time. I had the big mistake in France and a small one in Imola. I can’t change that. I feel like people talk about my mistakes more than they should.

Obviously, the difference in points is huge and we had back-to-back games where we lost points. At some point, everything we did was under the microscope. As a team we need to work on managing our Sundays better from now on.”

On his progress this season: “Honestly, I am very happy with this season. Of course we will always talk about my mistakes in Imola and France, but in 23 races, there will always be a point where you make a mistake, especially when you are fighting at the limit. I was greedy in France, at a point I shouldn’t have been. Maybe in Imola the best I could do was to stay in my place. As a driver, you always try to work on the small details, but in every race you also learn something. You try to be a better driver. There is not much I would personally change”.
