Leclerc: “On Saturdays we are very strong, let’s improve our Sundays”

THE Ferrari failed to make it in this year’s Formula 1 drivers’ and manufacturers’ championships, as he was beaten by Max Verstappen and the Red Bull. Nevertheless, Mr Charles Leclerc he expressed optimism about the future of the Italian team, which he believes is constantly improving.

Asked what Ferrari needs to improve to come back stronger in the 2023 season, the Monegasque answered: “I think, honestly, it’s in every way how we execute Sunday’s game. This is about many things: tire management, then communication, strategy, reliability. We just have to be a stronger team on Sundays, finish the three-day competition in the best possible way, because on Saturdays we were often very strong, but on Sundays things often fell apart. I think we will improve a lot in terms of communication, strategy, etc. Here and some races we are working on them and we have seen positive signs, so that is good

For the main problem faced this year by the team from Maranellothat of the management of tiresThe Leclerc commented: “We have seen that tire management has been quite difficult lately. We need to identify all the reasons why this is happening. But this is an ongoing effort that we are making, and I believe we are improving in this particular area. This year, in some races, we saw that we were very good with the tire management. All we need to improve is to perform equally well in all conditions and situations. For example in Japan, Sunday had a slightly lower temperature and of course it rained. So when we are in front of a somewhat unpredictable situation, then we are maybe less good than Red Bull maybe, so we have to work on that,” concluded the 25-year-old driver.
