The Regional Games of the Panhellenic Table Tennis Championship in six cities

The Panhellenic Men-Women Table Tennis Championship 2021-2022 acquired another form and new motivation this year and next weekend will be the first of the two different events created by EFOEPA.

The beginning is the Regional Championships, which will be held in six different places, as it was from the beginning in the plan of the Federation and will not only have the character of qualifiers for the final phase of next February, but will go to the end and will emerge the local champions.

The final registrations have reached about 150 and matches will be held in Piraeus for Attica, in Kavala for Northern Greece, in Patras for Western Greece and the Peloponnese, in Chios, Crete and Tinos.

The Regional Games are only about the simple. They include groups in the first phase and “knockout” matches in the second. The organization of Attica will take place at SEF. The corresponding of Northern Greece in Kavala, that of Western Greece-Peloponnese at the Pampeloponnisian Stadium, while for the rest of the country and the islands the participation applications met the conditions for the organization in Chania for the unions of Crete, in Chios with participation of athletes from Lesvos and Tinos with the presence of an athlete from AOEA Kos. The downside is that only in two of the six areas will women compete (in Attica and Northern Greece), as few registrations were made.

For Attica, 47 men and 14 women from 29 unions entered the draw. For Northern Greece, 31 men and ten women from twelve unions. For Western Greece, eleven athletes from six teams will compete, for Crete nine from three clubs, for Chios 15 from six clubs and for Tinos ten from two clubs.

The final phase of the Panhellenic Championship has been scheduled for the two days 26-27 / 2 2022. As the announcement provides, in addition to the qualifications that will be given by the Regions, there will also be qualifiers from the Greek evaluation tables.
