Marialena Artakianou was named KYANA MVP of the sixth women’s Volley League. The international libero of AEK was the pioneer of the victory of the Union with a 3-2 set in Voula over Thetida and helped a lot for the “yellow and black” to stay in third place in the standings.
“It was something I wanted very much. I’ve been waiting for this for years. Because I work very hard, I was looking forward to such an award. Especially, in the position of libero it is difficult to stand out. People don’t notice it as much and admire it as much as the other positions. In Greece it is unfair, while abroad not so much”, initially commented the 29-year-old ace, while about the game with Thetida she said that:
“It was a difficult game against Thetida, we knew it from the beginning. Thetis will do damage to many teams and especially at home. They are a fighting team. We also made some mistakes and, in some places, we played a high level of volleyball, but in others we made easy mistakes. The important thing is the victory and I believe, from now on, with hard work we will be able to achieve the goals we have set”.
