Midfielder Thomas Delaney is out of the remainder of the World Cup with a right knee injury, the Danish Football Association said on Wednesday.

The Sevilla player was injured on Tuesday (22) in Denmark’s first game at the World Cup in Qatar, in the 0-0 draw with Tunisia in Group D, where France and Australia are also present.

“We will miss him both on and off the pitch,” said Danish coach Kasper Hjulmand, quoted in the association’s statement.

“The other players are ready and we have a solid group for the next games”, added the commander.

Denmark faces France at 13:00 (Brasília time) next Saturday (26), at stadium 974, for the second round of the group stage.
