Neymar gains support after injury and says he will ‘come back soon’

by

In treatment since he was replaced by injury in Brazil’s victory over Serbia, on Thursday (24), Neymar has not yet given interviews. To people close to him, however, he showed confidence that he will play again –and at a high level– in this edition of the World Cup.

According to those around him, the attacker “is fine”. Happy with the circle of support formed around him, he has said he will “be back soon”. The idea is that he will be on the field in the round of 16, in ten days.

The 30-year-old suffered a sprained right ankle on his debut in Qatar. He was brought in by defender Milenkovic, in the 22nd minute of the second half, tried to stay on the pitch and ended up being sacked in the 34th minute.

Imaging tests carried out this Friday (25) showed “lateral ligament injury”. Bone edema was also observed. Thus, the presence of the number 10 shirt has already been discarded in the matches against Switzerland, next Monday (28), and against Cameroon, on Friday (2).

“Nothing in my life was given or easy. I always had to chase my dreams and my goals. Never wishing someone bad, but helping those in need”, Neymar published on Instagram, lamenting “one of the most career difficulties” and the injury “annoying”.

“It’s going to hurt, but I’m sure I’ll have a chance to come back because I’ll do what I can to help my country, my teammates and myself. How long to wait for the enemy to take me down like this? Never! I’m a child of the God of the impossible , and my faith is endless,” he wrote.

The player ended the publication by making a sentimental statement. “The pride and love I feel wearing the shirt is inexplicable. If God gave me the opportunity to choose a country to be born in, it would be Brazil.”
