Leclerc: “Next year we can take a step forward and claim the championship”

by

THE Charles Leclerc managed to finish ahead of Sergio Perez at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and take second place in the drivers’ championship, stating that he had to give 110% to achieve this result.

In addition, he expressed the hope that in the next season he will be able to claim with greater claims the title of champion, which he easily lost this year to Max Verstappen.

What the Ferrari driver said in detail:

“It took 110 percent effort from the first round to the last. Honestly, we had the perfect race, there was nothing more we could have done today. I knew our only chance to beat the Czech today was a different strategy, and the tire management game. And we executed it really well today. We managed to make the one-stop strategy work, so I’m very, very happy.”.

For next season: “I sincerely hope that next year we can take a step forward and claim the championship. But if we think about where we were last year, we made a really big step forward this year. And I think towards the end of the year we improved in terms of strategy. We still need to work on our speed in the race because on Sundays we seemed to push a bit more. But we will push through the winter to be able to get closer to them”.
