Training indicates Militão and Fred starting for Brazil against Switzerland

After the interview in which he preferred to keep Brazil’s line-up against Switzerland under wraps, this Sunday (27th) Tite led a training session at the Grand Hamad Stadium, in Doha. The activity was closed, but the coach indicated the formation to be adopted in the clash on Monday (28), at stadium 974.

For most of the movement, Éder Militão and Fred were chosen to take the places of the injured Danilo and Neymar. Other athletes were observed in the starting lineup –young Rodrygo among them–, but the trend is that the team has adopted the design for a longer time in the last training session.

Probable substitute for Neymar, Fred will not perform the function of the number 10. He will act in his position, that of second man in midfield. Thus, Lucas Paquetá will be advanced in the sector, working as a point guard.

Rodrygo would be an option with characteristics more similar to that of the owner of the position, but he is only 21 years old and has never been chosen as a starter for the national team. With the 29-year-old midfielder, who is in his second World Cup, the coach has an alternative with more experience.

On the right side, the option was not for the shooting. Daniel Alves, 39, should be on the bench. With no surprises, Danilo’s post will be occupied by defender Militão, 24, who played as a full-back in the beginning of his career, in São Paulo, and in some moments of his passage through Porto.

“Militão has already played in that role, it has the characteristics for that”, said Tite. The gaucho chose the athlete in that position in a friendly match against Ghana, one of the last in the preparation for the World Cup in Qatar.

The likely line-up for the match against Switzerland is as follows: Alisson; Militão, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva and Alex Sandro; Casemiro, Fred and Paquetá; Raphinha, Richarlison and Vinicius Junior.
