In a famous speech in 2010, former president Dilma Rousseff said: “I don’t think who wins or who loses, who wins or loses, will win or lose. Everyone will lose.” The phrase, famous in the networks, could easily be applied to the final round of group C at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

This Wednesday (30), the matches of Argentina x Poland and Mexico x Saudi Arabia were a full plate for lovers of plot twists. That’s because, even losing, Poland qualified and, even winning, Mexico was eliminated.

A few minutes from the final whistle in the game against Saudi Arabia, Mexico was fighting for the third goal (which was disallowed twice) in order not to fall in the group stage due to the number of yellow cards. The Polish team made even Brazilians cheer for Argentina.

To the despair of the brothers, Poland’s goalkeeper, Szczesny, closed the goal and even saved a penalty from Messi.

In the game between Argentina and Poland, everyone won.
