The first duel of the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar was defined this Saturday (3). Holland and Argentina went through the United States and Australia, respectively, and will now face each other next Friday (9), in search of a place in the semifinal.

On the five occasions they faced each other, the Dutch won two games and another three ended in a draw. However, in decisive games, Argentina won.
In the 1978 World Cup final, playing as the host country, Argentina beat the Netherlands in extra time after a 1-1 draw in normal time.
The last game between the two teams in a World Cup was in 2014, in Brazil. After a goalless draw in normal time and overtime, the decision went to penalties. The Argentines were better in the kicks and won by 4 to 2.
