Striker Sadio Mané, star of Senegal, published a message to his teammates on social networks after the defeat by 3-0 to England, on Sunday (4), in the round of 16, a result that eliminated the team from the World Cup World of Qatar.
Mané was cut the day before the start of the World Cup because of an injury to his right leg.
“Dear brothers, you fell arm in arm. The people are very proud of your trajectory that has warmed the hearts of the fans, defending the national flag with dignity. Good luck, the learning continues. We will go in search of other trophies”, wrote the 30 year old player.
This was Senegal’s third participation in World Cups. The best position was precisely in the first, in 2002, when it reached the quarterfinals, but ended up eliminated by Turkey by 1-0 in extra time. In 2018, they fell in the group stage.
