Karabourniotis: “The presence of the crowd will play an important role for us”

A “final” game in terms of their European obligations is ahead of Olympiacos, since on Saturday (10/12) they will welcome Vaker Toun at 16:30 at Klisto of Ilioupoli, with the aim of winning and qualifying for the “16” of the EHF European Cup.

The Greek champions want to overturn the result of the first match in Switzerland, where they lost 24-22 and need a three-goal win to secure their ticket to the next stage.

In view of this particular match, Panagiotis Karabourniotis stated the following to olympiacossfp.gr:

“The team is coming off a fair away defeat close to a good and traditionally strong team. We had a poor first half defensively which coupled with the failure resulted in us finding ourselves behind in the score, however in the second half of the game we played to the best of our abilities and managed to get a final score that puts us worthy contenders for the next match .

Having identified our mistakes, we have now started our preparation for a final on Saturday where our only goal is to qualify for the next phase. In this match an important role for us will be played by the presence of our 8th player who is none other than the world of Olympiakos. We want them by our side for 60 minutes and to be sure that the team will give everything to achieve another European qualification, all together with our passion”.
