Germany and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer suffered a broken right leg while skiing in Bavaria. He underwent surgery and is out of action this season.
“Hi everyone, what can I say… The end of the year could definitely have gone better. While trying to clear my head while skiing, I suffered a broken leg. Yesterday’s surgery went well. Many thanks to the doctors! But it hurts to know that the current season is over for me. Take care!”, Neuer wrote on social media.
With the surgery, the Bayern goalkeeper is only expected to return to the pitch in the second half of 2023.
According to the German newspaper Bild, all contracts of Bayern players have clauses that prevent the practice of dangerous sports, but Neur would not have any obstacle when it comes to skiing.
