The leap of striker Youssef En Nesyri to score the winning goal for Morocco against Portugal, this Saturday (10), at the Al Thumama stadium, in Doha (Qatar), generated a series of comparisons with a similar move by Cristiano Ronaldo , when the Portuguese player played for Juventus, in 2019.

On the occasion, Ronaldo jumped 2.56 meters to head the ball and score the winning goal by 2-1 over Sampdoria, for the Italian Championship.

In this Saturday’s bid, which defined the Moroccan classification for the semifinal of the World Cup in Qatar, En Nesyri, 1.88 m tall, managed to climb higher than goalkeeper Diogo Costa, 1.86 m, and who defender Ruben Dias, also 1.86 m tall, and headed towards the goal.

On social networks, the move by En Nesyri, who plays in the Spanish Sevilla, was called “Air Nesyri”, a pun on airline, and rocket man.

According to information from the IOC (International Olympic Committee), Cristiano Ronaldo’s jump of 2.56 meters against Sampdoria was the second highest of the Portuguese in his career. The first had been in 2013, when he was playing for Real Madrid. On the occasion, he reached the mark of 2.93 meters to head and score the 1-1 draw against Manchester United, in the Champions League, at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
