See the repercussion of the purchase of the Cruzeiro by Ronaldo Fenômeno

The announcement of the purchase of Cruzeiro by former striker Ronaldo Nazário, revealed to professional football by the Minas Gerais club in 1993, gained repercussion in some international press vehicles. The agreement was confirmed this Saturday (18) early afternoon by Fenômeno himself and by the president of Raposa, Sérgio Santos Rodrigues, during a live broadcast on a social network.

Main sports newspaper in Spain, where Ronaldo had two spells — Barcelona between 1996 and 1997 and Real Madrid from 2002 to 2007 — the daily “Marca” highlighted the current delicate moment of the Minas Gerais club, which will compete in the B Series of the Brazilian Championship for the third year in a row.

The newspaper also recalls that Cruzeiro will be the second club in the Phenomenon, as he is also the biggest shareholder and president of Real Valladolid, currently in the Spanish second division.

The daily “As”, in turn, highlighted the feeling of surprise among fans of the Castilian team.

“The news was also unexpected in Valladolid. It was public that the president of the organization was in the country [Brasil] and performed various activities, but no type of operation was known. Now, the question among supporters is whether this will mean a possible departure from the club or whether it will be the beginning of the creation of a City-style group, with the ownership of several clubs on several continents,” says the statement.

Finally, the “As” also highlights Ronaldo’s reunion with coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo, with whom he worked for both Real Madrid and the Brazilian team.

Luxembourg itself, through its press office, also commented on the operation and welcomed the former attacker.

“For what Ronaldo means for Cruzeiro and for football, I wish success and congratulations to the Phenomenon,” he declared in a statement. The coach returned to the command of Fox in August of this year and is kept for the next season.
