The goalkeeper of Morocco Yassine Bono said that the semifinal of the World Cup lost to France (2-0) this Wednesday (14th) was a “difficult game” and that his teammates “were certain of victory”, but now promise fight for third place in the tournament against Croatia.

“The game wasn’t easy. We dreamed of going to the final and we were sure of victory, but it didn’t work”, lamented the Sevilla goalkeeper. “The lads played a great game, made a huge effort and created chances.”

“The first goal complicated our game, but the selection showed that it has personality and created chances after going behind”, analyzed Bono.

“Then came the second goal with a bit of luck. Anyway, we had a great game,” he added.

The Moroccan goalkeeper also praised the players who replaced his injured teammates Romain Saiss, who was substituted in the first half, and Nayef Aguerd, who was even announced in the official lineup, but did not enter the field.

“Those who came in, whether Jawad (el Yamiq) or Achraf (Dari), played a great game and maintained their level. I didn’t notice the absence of Saiss or Aguerd.”

Although Morocco’s world title dream has come to an end, Bono considers that his team “truly showed that they are capable of competing against the big teams”.

The Atlas Lions will face Croatia next Saturday (17), at 12:00 (Brasília time), for third place in the World Cup in Qatar and Bono promised to fight for victory: “We still have one game left, which we need to face with the same seriousness that we show in others”.
