In January, Athens becomes the center of World Karate. In exactly one month, on the three-day period 13-15 January 2023, the capital will host one of the five tournaments that are part of the World Federation (WKF) K1 Series A series.
Athens 2023 K1 Series A will be held indoors at the Olympic Facilities in Ano Liosia. Athens will become a pole of attraction for karateka from all over the world as the entries have already reached 1,100 from 70 countries.
Along with the coaches, referees and attendants, it is estimated that around 3,000 people related to the event will travel to Athens in January.
From the Greek side, more than 80 sportsmen and women will participate in Kata and all Kumite categories.
Time is counting down and the Hellenic Karate Federation is working at a fast pace for the seamless preparation and holding of the first major karate event that our country has undertaken in the last decade.
The event is under the auspices of WKF which will broadcast the matches via Live Streaming from its official YouTube channel.
