The King of Football profile on Instagram published a text this Sunday afternoon (18) congratulating Argentina for its third world championship, won after the victory on penalties over France, in the World Cup in Qatar.

Pelé also praised the Frenchman Mbappé, who did not take the trophy, but left Qatar as the competition’s top scorer, with eight goals scored.

“Today, football continued to tell its story, as always, in an enthralling way. Messi winning his first World Cup, as his career deserved. My dear friend, Mbappé, scoring four goals in a final. What a gift it was to watch this spectacle to the future of our sport. And I couldn’t fail to congratulate Morocco, for the incredible campaign. It’s great to see Africa shine. Congratulations, Argentina! Certainly Diego is smiling now.”

During the game, Kely Nascimento, Pelé’s daughter, published a photo on her networks where her sister Flavia appears massaging Pelé’s foot while he watches the World Cup final.

Pelé, 82, has been hospitalized since November 29, undergoing treatment for colon cancer and a respiratory infection.

As shown to Sheet on December 2, the former athlete stopped responding to chemotherapy and started receiving palliative care. Pelé’s daughters reacted, trying to reassure the fans.
