In January in particular, Bogoria of Panagiotis Gionis and Enebon of Yiannis Sgouropoulos will enter a new phase of their European journey. After Gioni’s Polish club, he confirmed second place in his own Champions League group and Sgouropoulos’ French club and both advance to the men’s table tennis Europe Cup.

In Sunday’s final, Enebon suffered a painless home defeat to Group B’s third seed, Austria’s Wells, 3-1 in a set and placed second. This position this year meant exclusion from the Champions League, but it gave the right to move to the quarter-finals of the European Cup.

Bogoria and Enebon know their next opponents and the matches of the eight are scheduled for the end of January.

Greece will also be represented at the final stage of the Europe Trophy in the spring by the Olympiacos men’s table tennis team and the ASEA Sarises Florinas women’s table tennis team.

Last Sunday, Enebon welcomed Wales to its new sports center for the fourth and final matchday of the groups. Given the 3-0 in their favor in the first match, they were essentially guaranteed second place behind the German Milhausen, sure winner of the group. This was also the reason why he gave the opportunity to participate to two substitutes and did not even need Sgouropoulos.

He lined up with Alexander Gillen, Wang Xin and one of the main players, the Dane Anders Lind, in fact the latter scored the winning result from position 3 and, thus, tied with Wales on 5 points in favor of the former champion of France. After finishing second in Group B, Enebon move on to the quarter-final round of the Europe Cup to face Italy’s Messina. The first match must take place between 22-25 January in the neighboring country and the second leg between 26 and 29 of the same month in France.

Bogoria will have a “civil war” in the eighth round of the Europe Cup. He is invited to face Giazda Bydgoz, which is one of the leading teams in Poland. Within the same dates, the two quarter-finals will be held, with the first match being for Bydgosz.

Until then, he is waiting for Gionis to be ready again, who returned to Athens with new discomforts from his last match and is currently undergoing treatment.

Bogoria became second favorite in this event. They are at the bottom of the table and, if they overcome Bydgosz, they will meet the winner of the Wiener Neustadt (Austria)-Gialdovo (Poland) quarter-final. Enebonne, if it qualifies, will find either the French Pontoise or the Italian Apuania Carrara in the semi-finals.
