Pelé has also received tributes on virtual lawns, among football game lovers. Since his death, last Thursday (29), the King has been honored at the start or when the game player returns to the menu of “Fifa 23”, the version of the video game released in September.
“We mourn the passing of Pelé, a true football icon who inspired generations of fans around the world. To commemorate his incredible legacy and groundbreaking career, a ‘Pelé Tifo’ [o mosaico] has been added to your FUT club. Thank you, Pelé: the King of the Game of the World”, says the tribute text signed by the creator of the game, EA Sports.
The message is accompanied by an illustration that makes reference to the flag of Brazil, represented by Pelé all over the world.
In the center and colored, is the young Pelé bust, wearing the uniform of the Selection. In the background, two scenes make up the image: on the right, and in black and white, the King kisses the Jules Rimet cup, won by Brazil in the 1970 World Cup.
On the left, also in black and white, there is a reproduction of the idol’s photo celebrating a goal hugging Jairzinho in the final of the same World Cup.
Fans of the star player could already count on the King in their teams. Now, they can also change the look of the stadium within the game, by placing an image of the idol as a kind of flag —what is known as Typhus among game players.
The mosaic was made available to players free of charge. To save, just access the FUT store in the game and redeem the item.
