Turkey: Erdogan announced reductions in gas and electricity prices

The Turkish government will cut gas prices for industrial consumers by up to 25% and electricity prices by 16% starting tomorrow, January 1, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced today.

Natural gas prices for power generation fell by 12.73%, the Turkish president said, adding that electricity prices would drop by 16% for industrial consumers, a measure announced on Friday by the head of energy regulator EPDK .

Erdogan added that gas prices for places of worship will be reduced by 42.73%, also from January 1.
