Barcelona wins the Champions League with Messi’s ‘heir’ goal

With a goal by Ansu Fati, young promise and heir to Lionel Messi’s 10 shirt, Barcelona beat Dynamo Kiev in the fourth round of the Champions League group stage, this Tuesday (2), and breathe in the competition.

The 19-year-old striker scored the only goal of the game in Kiev, Ukraine. He received a cross from full-back Mingueza and filled his foot to overcome the opposing goalkeeper.

Last month, Fati had his contract renewed with Barcelona until 2027. `He is considered one of the main bets to succeed the biggest idol of the club, Messi, who left the Catalan team in August and now defends Paris Saint-German.

The victory over Dynamo, last in the group, gives peace to Barça, who now have 6 points and are second in Group E, behind only Bayern Munich. In the next round, on the 23rd of this month, coach Ronald Koeman’s team will face Benfica, from coach Jorge Jesus, and if they win, they will qualify for the knockout phase of the tournament.

In the other match of Group E, Bayern Munich thrashed Benfica 5-2 and kept 100% of the competition.

For Group F, Cristiano Ronaldo’s efficiency in attack prevented Manchester United’s new defeat in the competition. The Portuguese hit the net twice and secured his team’s 2-2 draw with Atalanta, in Bergamo, Italy.

Manchester didn’t have a good performance and suffered from defensive mistakes. In the first goal of the Atalanta team, goalkeeper De Gea, criticized for making mistakes during the season, accepted a defensible shot from Ilicic. In the second, Colombian Zapata scored after beating Maguire, considered the most expensive defender in the world.

The result leaves the English team in a comfortable situation. The team now has 7 and leads Group F. In the next round, on the 23rd of this month, Manchester United will face Villarreal away from home.

Earlier, Chelsea beat Malmö 1-0, away from home, with a goal by Ziyech. The result left the London team, current champions of the tournament, in second place in Group H, with 9 points. The leader is Juventus (12 points), who beat Zenit 4-2.

In Group G, Wolfsburg won 2-1 against RB Salzburg. Despite the defeat, the Austrian team remains in the lead with 7 points. The German team, in third, has five. Lille (5 points), in second, beat Seville (3 points), in last, 2-1.
