AEK is pleased to announce the start of its partnership with right winger Caroline Lewandowski and playmaker Anna Carolina Gomes. The two athletes are internationals with Brazil and stand out in their country’s women’s championship with Blumenau.
Caroline Lewandowski was born on 23/03/2001 and in 2021 she played in the Pan American Games with Brazil, where she won 3rd place. She was also voted Brasileiros de Clube Junior’s best right winger for 2022, while being the second top scorer in this year’s women’s league with 46 goals.
Anna Carolina Gomes was born on 04/09/1996 and in 2016 she won the Pan American Games with the Brazilian Junior National Team. In 2022, she played for the first time in the Brazilian Women’s National Team, participating in the Latin American games held in Paraguay. Finally, she was the top scorer in this year’s women’s league with 65 goals.
Caroline Lewandowski, speaking to aek.gr, said: “Playing outside of Brazil was something I didn’t expect now, but also something I was curious to see. There are other Brazilian athletes in AEK and the fact that AEK is a big club made my decision easier. I think I will gain experience and we will achieve the goals with the team. Finally, the message I want to send to AEK fans is that I will do my best to win titles».
Anna Carolina Gomez also stated for her part: “For me it is my first experience, at club level, outside my country. This season I had received offers from European clubs. But I wasn’t too interested as I had to realize my goals with my team in Brazil. I am very happy, however, that I was offered by AEK and I will play in their colors. I accepted the offer, having high goals. My goal for the team is to reach the finals and challenge for the title. I know it’s hard, but we can fight it».
