Christian date, Christmas is a time of peace and love.
Time to renew our vows of faith and hope for a better world, for a fairer and less unequal society.
Also time to celebrate, if possible, with friends, colleagues, relatives, with the other important people in our lives.
Taking advantage of the proximity of this moment, the Belgium team, Brazil’s tormentor in the 2018 World Cup and leader of the FIFA men’s ranking, held a themed photo session with athletes defending the country’s colors.
Players and female players participated. At least two of them are well known to international football fans: Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne and Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard.
The images were really cute, with participants with “angel faces”, as if to say “Noel, I behaved well this year, don’t forget about me”.
The very colorful costumes, which mix the team’s uniform (socks and shorts) with Christmas arrangements (red cap, t-shirts with balls, reindeer and stars), were a great idea.
And there is an atmosphere of cordiality, friendship and affection among footballers. If in real life they really like each other, you can’t tell; if they acted like actors, they did it competently.
I especially liked the clicks made with the Hazard brothers (Eden and Thorgan) and with Alex Witzel (Borussia Dortmund) and Dedryck Boyata (Hertha Berlin).
Finally, the result of this action came out very well, and there is the possibility, according to the Royal Belgium Football Association (Belgian CBF), to download these images, through the entity’s website or app, and send them as Christmas cards.
(I tried and failed, but it may have been because of my acquaintance, for those who know me, limitation in “internet” issues.)
Merry Christmas, reader!
