Update Avgenakis on the money from the bet – Which teams will not get a percentage

The issue of money from bet put on the carpet with the heads of the professional leagues o Lefteris Avgenakis.

They were not informed about them limitations that will exist, based on which groups will be excluded from the financing.

The relative update of the GSA states:

“Following the invitation of the Deputy Minister of Sports, Lefteri Avgenakisto the heads of professional leagues (Super League 1, Super League 2, Basket League, Volleyball League)a meeting was held in his office, attended by Leonidas Leutsakos (president SL2), Vangelis Galatsopoulos (chairman of ESAKE) and Pantelis Tarnator (ESAP president).

The Super League 1 he didn’t come.

The purpose was agreement of all the involved bodies of our professional sports for the fair distribution of the amount attributed to them, as support from the permanent financing mechanism, through taxation of the winnings of the players of games of chance.

This amount amounts to €30,500,000 (a corresponding amount will also be distributed to amateur sports).

In addition, they were informed that:

a) Sports Corporations that have not secured from the Professional Sports Committee the necessary Certificate of Participation in their league (e.g. failure to submit a letter of guarantee) will not be eligible for funding.

b) No funding will be paid to Sports Corporations involved in Reports to the National Sports Integrity Platform, for their possible participation in rigged matches, until EPATHLA issues a Finding. Since the Finding is sent to the Sports Authorities for further investigation of the case, the suspension of funding remains until the competent bodies decide.”
