Sabalenka played the game of her life and subdued the No25 ranked in a game of 2 hours and 28 minutes.
In the first set, Rybakina broke early and found herself leading 3-1, but Sabalenka equalized at 4-4. The Kazakh’s response was immediate as she broke again for 5-4 and ended the set 6-4.
The second set was exciting. Sabalenka reached a break point early, but Rybakina stopped her. Finally, she managed it in the fourth game and escaped to 4-1, despite her opponent threatening a break. She then threatened as well, not being able to break the Belarusian’s serve, but she managed to keep the lead and made it 1-1 set 6-3.
The third set was more balanced. Sabalenka came close to breaking in the fifth game, but Rybakina held on and made it 3-2. She didn’t succeed, however, with Sabalenka making it 5-3 and ending the match 6-4 after a great battle.
