THE Youssef El Arabi turns 36 today and was remembered in a video published by Olympic the most important of the 86 goals he has scored with the “red and whites”.
It is certainly about that at 2-1 over Arsenal in Londonwhich had given Piraeus a huge qualification to the “16” of the Europa League in February 2020.
Here is how he remembered, in his own words, the goal he had scored.
“Last minute of the match, we have a big match against Arsenal, one corner left, last phase. I see Sa coming up too, maybe this is our last chance. Masouras executes, the ball comes back, Omar retrieves it, Masouras comes and sends it into the area…
I jump towards the ball because I know it’s the last phase, I manage to get my foot in and the ball ends up in the goal. A lot of players come around me, I look to see if I was offside and then I celebrate right next to our fans. Honestly it was great because it was the reward, we had a good game and that day is really a beautiful memory.

Then on the plane, arriving in Athens with all the fans in the reception, it was something emotional. I know it was the same for the other players who experienced it because it was an intense game that we played until the last minute. We lasted until extra time and were rewarded in this way, it was really amazing.”
